Sublime in Lech

Lech, Austria, is a destination synonymous with alpine elegance, world-class skiing, and a timeless charm that has drawn skiers from around the globe for generations. Nestled in the Arlberg region, this picturesque village offers not only exceptional ski terrain but also a sophisticated après-ski culture, luxurious accommodations, and unforgettable dining experiences.

For us at Aztech, Lech feels familiar. Like when we’re home in Aspen, time spent in Lech is rejuvenating, inspiring, and treasured. The red string that ties the two world-renowned ski towns—Aspen and Lech—on opposite ends of the globe is the founding visionary of Aspen: Friedl Pfiefer. Born in Austria in the spring of 1911, Pfiefer skied to and from school in his hometown of St. Anton am Arlberg before joining the staff of Hannes Schneider’s famous ski school at the age of 14 before leaving Austria in 1938. He was introduced to Aspen while training with the fabled 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale during WWII and returned to launch the ski school in Aspen post-war. Pfiefer’s fingerprints are all over Aspen and Lech, his influence on each town celebrated.

When it came time to open our first international boutique, there was only one destination in our mind. Our partnership with the Arlberg Club House has been the shining example of everything we envision for our customers. We’re thrilled to be a key feature of this new meeting place for friends, family, mountain enthusiasts, après-skiers and connoisseurs where alpine hospitality meets joie de vivre.

From the luxurious embrace of Hotel Arlberg to the thrill of skiing the White Ring, Lech is a destination that offers something truly special for every traveler. Whether you’re here for the powder or the pampering, one thing is certain: you’ll leave with memories—and perhaps a few new ski stories—that will last a lifetime.

Pack your best gear, bring your appetite for adventure, and prepare to experience the very best of alpine luxury. Whether you’re carving down pristine slopes or indulging in a fireside cocktail, Lech is the epitome of alpine luxury. Here’s how to make the most of your visit, from Aztech’s perspective.

Stay in Style: Hotel Arlberg

Your home base in Lech should be as memorable as the mountain itself, and there’s no better place to stay than Hotel Arlberg. Family-run and rich with history, this five-star gem seamlessly blends traditional Austrian warmth with modern sophistication.

After a day on the slopes, unwind in their state-of-the-art spa, complete with outdoor heated pools that overlook snow-dusted peaks. The hotel’s dining options, including the elegant La Fenice, offer an impeccable mix of alpine and Mediterranean cuisine, served in spaces that radiate understated luxury. Personal touches like hand-written notes and staff who greet you by name make staying here a uniquely personal experience. Hotel Arlberg isn’t just a hotel—it’s a Lech institution.

Ski Like a Local

The Arlberg ski area is Austria’s largest connected ski domain, offering over 300 kilometers of groomed pistes and an extensive off-piste playground. Start your day with a warm-up run on the Schlegelkopf or venture further afield to Zürs for some of the most thrilling powder. For adventurous skiers, the White Ring circuit is an iconic route that takes you on a 22-kilometer, half-day journey through Lech, Zürs, Zug, and Oberlech, combining challenging terrain with breathtaking views.  For those who seek the ultimate in backcountry adventure look no further than local mountain guides Nina Giggle, Mara Münzing or Benedict Christof.

Après-Ski Elegance

Lech elevates après-ski to an art form. Skip the rowdy bar scene and head to Fux Restaurant + Bar, known for its creative cocktails and sophisticated ambiance. For wine lovers, Hagen’s Dorfmetzgerei is a must-visit spot offering curated selections of Austrian vintages paired with gourmet charcuterie. Prefer something more traditional? The rustic charm of Balmalp at Zug is a perfect place to sip on Glühwein while basking in the glow of the setting sun.

Fine Dining with a View

Lech’s culinary scene rivals that of any major city, blending farm-to-table freshness with Alpine tradition. Reserve a table at Griggeler Stuba in Oberlech for a world-renowned dining experience, where every dish is an artistic masterpiece. For something more intimate, try Hus Nr. 8, housed in a 300-year-old chalet serving hearty Austrian classics like Wiener Schnitzel and Käsespätzle.

Beyond the Slopes

Lech’s magic extends beyond skiing. A horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow-blanketed Zug Valley offers a serene way to experience the area’s natural beauty. Or, explore the Rüfikopf Panorama Trail, a snowshoe-friendly route with sweeping views of the Lechtal Alps. For culture enthusiasts, the Skyspace Lech by artist James Turrell is a must-see, blending art, architecture, and the surrounding landscape in a way that is both meditative and inspiring.
