Nina O'Brien is Heating Up!

Catching Up After a Breakthrough Season!

The seven-time National Champ, scratch that- EIGHT-TIME (as this was written!) had a breakthrough season on the World Cup this past year, securing muliple top-15 finishes as well as two top-10 results, including at the World Championships in Cortina, Italy (pictured below). For any athlete on the World Cup, making the jump from a top-30 World Cup skier to a top-10 is incredibly difficult. Safe to say she is now a podium-level threat whenever she steps into the starting gate. Nina joined Aztech Mountain as an ambassador this past fall and it has been an inspiration to see her progress to the top of the sport.

When she is not being hoisted up by her teammates following career-best results you can her find her getting out for a ski tour with friends in her Hayden 3L kit or turning in assigments to complete her Economics degree from Dartmouth while on the World Cup Circuit across the Alps.

“Wow it feels great to be back in the US and racing at Aspen! This winter was such a whirlwind but definitely my best season yet. After about 6 months in Europe, hundreds of training sessions, 50+ covid tests, and one broken thumb - I’m definitely glad to be wrapping up the season with U.S. Nationals. There were lots of highs and lows along the way, but in the end I’m stoked to be ranked 15th in the world in GS and qualified for the A-Team (U.S. Ski Team’s Highest Ranked Athletes)."

8-Time National Champ!

The U.S. Alpine Championships is currently taking place in our hometown of Aspen, CO. With the men wrapping up competition on April 12, the hill now belongs to the ladies. On her first day of competition, Nina took the top spot in today’s Super-G event! With the Giant Slalom and Slalom events still remaining, keep an eye out for Nina. A three-peat is very much in the cards!
