Ski Tripping
By Brooke Danielson
There is such power in an adventure. Dreaming of far off places is something I tend to do quite regularly, and almost always these dreams are centered around skiing, running or any kind of outdoor sport where I can explore a foreign place. Top of mind lately has been Portillo, Chile, Zermatt, Switzerland and British Columbia, Canada. All different countries and all vastly different terrains, and types of adventures, there is a reason these are all bucket list and here’s why:
Portillo, Chile
Tamara Susa for Ski Portillo
Located in the Andes mountains, the beauty of Ski Portillo is that you can ski here in the summer months—mid-June to October. So, for ski lovers that can’t get enough skiing in the winter, you can continue your season in the summer.
Zermatt, Switzerland

Zermatt is nestled below the iconic Matterhorn, need I say more? This mountain offers long runs and more challenging terrain. If you are looking to take an über-chic vacation and push yourself on-and off-piste, this is the spot. For a classic five-star hotel, check out the Grand Hotel Zermatterhof.
British Columbia, Canada
Blake Jorgenson for Mica Lodge
West coast skiing heaven and the ultimate destination If you are going to heli-ski. Surrounded by stunning terrain, the secluded Mica Lodge outside of Revelstoke is a perfect gathering place for small groups looking for exceptional skiing and five-star amenities. I cannot wait to throw on my space black camo Nuke Suit jacket and Team Aztech Pant and glide down fresh powder in this dreamy destination.
